Background
The HAB-3 "Thronemaker" is a supersonic heavy bomber generational upgrade over the Cloudwatcher. Alongside a much larger cargo hold, it is fitted with a large number of large missile mounts which enables it to protect itself and/or perform long-range strikes against distant ground/sea targets. Ultimatums never deploy without a sizeable escort force.
Its production originally ended in 1986 as per the initial government contract, but production resumed following the crises of the 1990s to maintain maximal strategic readiness.
The lesson is yet to be learned, if there is any to be had.
