Background

The JPI-1 "Cohesor" is a lightweight interceptor designed to eliminate high-flying, lightly-defended threats. It is capable of launching from carriers, and can hold its own against other fighters moderately well. Cohesors are never alone, as they tend to be easy pickings alone.

Similar to its fighter siblings, the Cohesor's development was heavily influenced by the successes and failures of the Rushdown. Unlike the other two, its own development was fraught with many setbacks, resulting in a development period over a decade long. It risked cancellation on many occasions, but managed to survive.

The lesson: sometimes you need to go back to the drawing board (or stew pot) a couple dozen times for things to work out.
