SECTION 2
APPEARANCE
Well among the group of short men, Anil is dwarfed by most. He is not particularly strong either, but his epic, wavy hair and stylish Aviators surely makes up for it. He has a strong preference for comfortable clothing, especially when it's a dark color.
SECTION 3
PERSONALITY
Anil is a friendly and intelligent man who cares deeply for his family. He doesn't like confrontation, and doesn't handle stress well. His sense of humor is a potently peculiar type, and he finds it very funny to act in goofy ways.
The cultural expectations of a Hinustrivan man conflict with his enjoymeny of being the non-dominant partner in any relationship, a fact that he has and will continue to struggle to contend with for some time. He does not like having to rely on his partners, though life has left him with little other choice.
Also, Anil has a mild variant of Tourrette's Syndrome.
SECTION 4
BACKSTORY
Anil was born in an impoverished part of Hinustriva, and had little for the entirety of his childhood and most of his teenage years. Malnutrition stunted his growth, but the struggles of childhood didn't manage to take his one sibling. His life would have likely amounted to little, had it not been for the Federation of Greater Martil opening its borders for the first time, ever.
At the bold age of sixteen, Anil had crossed the Pluric Ocean. His family had happened to arrive to Eapoti city, and that was where they settled. Life was good - incredibly good, in Anil's opinion. His family had a safe home provided by the state, enough amenities that he never went hungry, a welcoming community, and high-quality & free schooling!
The bliss could not last forever, and the wake-up call came in the form of the Aetellian Empire bombing Eapoti. That, combined with a pandemic the scale Greater Martil had never experienced brought a quick end to the xenophobic nation's cautious optimism towards foreigners. His house may have survived, but his family's reputation didn't.
Life was still comfortable from then on, excluding school. He became the target of many a bully, and had little choice but to take it. He faced increased scrutiny by his teachers, who made sure to knock down his good-but-not-perfect grades down a peg. It crescendoed when one of Anil's bullies, Euxcig Adala, assaulted him and his sister. He ended up being saved by a girl, of all things; an open-minded soldier who made sure Euxcig didn't get away with the assault. Not that it stopped future harrassment, but a line had been drawn.
Some time later, Etema Dioxi had pushed her way into Anil's life. It was a case of right place, right time; she had grown tired of Euxcig's harrassment of foreigners, and just so happened to interrupt one of his bullying attempts on Anil. The two became friends from there, and eventually lovers.
In the first two months dating Etema, he was subjected to a multitude of situations that he both enjoyed and disliked in equal measure. He was not the one to confess, he was not the one to initiate their first kiss, he was not the one to start dates... A part of him enjoyed Etema taking the lead, as wrong as he had been taught such a thing was. It all came to ahead when, frustrated with his inability to be the man in their romance, Anil (at 18) decided to have intercourse with Etema. He did not, in the end, take the lead. Following a stressful encounter with his own parents, Anil would end up sharing his mounting feelings with Etema, and he would begin on the path of self-acceptance.
At the age of twenty, Anil graduated from quaternary school; the FoGM equivalent for college. He'd chosen to pursue a career of creative writing, and he was ready to change the world with the countless ideas coursing through his head. Anil should've known things had been too good for too long; he didn't even get to recieve his diploma before a Cohesor had intercepted him, and made him go to a hospital for aberrancy diagnosis. His Tourrette's, a benign mental condition he'd been born with, had ended his life before it even began.
For the next four years, Anil was not able to find a stable job. He was able to get work, yes, but not after intense searching and not for more than a few months at a time. None wanted him, and those that took him on only did so until they found a non-aberrant to fill the role. But eventually Etema would have enough, and pushed him into a career of public works with the Hal Tarmay. It wasn't what he wanted, but it was between that and keeping just above the poverty line.
And that is where it ends, for now. Anil's story is still being written.
