The 'SYNC' Multi-Function Digital Interface (often referred to as simply the SYNC) is the definitive synthetic augmentation of its category. It is capable of anything relating to the digital world that the end-user could ever need.

The SYNC is an extensive compount (multi-bodypart, complex multi-function) cognitive, nervous, and manipulation system implant. The baseline SYNC has the following functions:

• BI-DIRECTIONAL SENSORY INTERFACE: Artificial linking of the nervous system with SYNC-compatible devices.
• ADAPTIVE INTEGRATION: Capable of adaptation to link with devices without inherent SYNC capability, either through wireless connection or adaptive cable.
• MULTI-DEPTH VIRTUALIZATION: Virtual reality overlay capable of any level of virtualization, from augmented reality to full-depth virtual.
• PERSONAL ASSISTANT: Operator-grade general-purpose assistance AI with emotion/intent tracking for seamless and convenient functions.
• NEURAL ABSTRACTION & ENCRYPTION: Low-grade psychic influence protection, alongside contemporary encryption to protect memories (in digital storage) from unauthorized access.
• HT.HE DATA TRANSFER: High-throughput data transfer with contemporary encryption.

HISTORY

The SYNC was developed on date [23,658-4-16 GE] by the Mechascension corporation. Combining all common interfacing needs of citizens at the time into a single compact implant, it has been the definitive MFDI since its introduction. Its design has recieved minimal updates since initial release, with only occasional upgrades before the final stagnation brought the end of innovation (until the Phi Period).
