SECTION 1
ABSTRACT
The 'Kaleidoscope' Ocular Enhancement, often simply referred to as 'Kaleidoscope', is the current best civilian optical augmentation.
SECTION 2
SUMMARY
The Kaleidoscope is a compound (complex multi-function) ocular system implant. It possesses the following functions:
- POLY-4 APPEARANCE MODIFIER: The exterior shell is made of Poly-4 with a cosmetic modification device underneath, allowing the user to change the appearance of the implant's exterior on demand.
- FULL-SPECTRUM OPTICAL RECIEVER: Digtial video reciever with full passive full-spectrum scanner effectiveness rating.
- FULL-SPECTRUM EMITTER ARRAY: 32 photon emitters with active full-spectrum scan wavelength range. Subfunctions include laser tracking and flashlight.
- DEPTH & ZOOM LENS: Lens and photon reciever is capable of dynamic zooming and depth perception without the need for multiple optical scanners.
- REFLEX-TYPE ASSISTANT: Task-grade cybernetic operation artifical intelligence that automatically performs focus adjustment, light intensity adaption, and object tracking for its user.
SECTION 3
HISTORY
The Kaleidoscope was developed on date [5,886-7-8 GE] by the Mechascension corporation. The class of augment has been in and out of the leading ocular enhancement position across the decamillennia, before asserting itself as the definitive civilian ocular enhancement on date [26,185-1-28]. It recieved many upgrades and reworks over its existence, although the definitive model has been mostly unchanged since release (until the Phi Period).
