SECTION 1
ABSTRACT
Antimatter batteries are the primary method of storing energy, capable of charging and discharging with standard forms of energy input/output (most importantly electrical) with no special exteral equipment.
SECTION 2
SUMMARY
The antimatter battery is a rechargeable power storage and supply unit with a high energy storage and throughput potential. Antimatter batteries are made of three main components; an antimatter storage unit, an energy-to-antimatter converter, and an antimatter-to-energy converter.
Antimatter batteries have the advantage of being able to go through a theoretically infinite number of charge cycles without losing any type of efficiency, although with a constant gradual power drain from the antimatter storage unit maintaining containment.
SECTION 3
HISTORY
The modern antimatter battery was developed on date [12,896-8-2] by the Starsmith corporation to exploit newly-developed direct energy-to-matter technologies. Antimatter power storage units with similar function to the antimatter battery existed back as far as date [5287-9-30], although they were considerably more complex and limited in usage - mostly industrial applications.
The antimatter battery quickly became the primary method of storing power due to the immense convenience of being able to fill the antimatter storage with a simpler form of energy input, such as electric or photonic.
