SECTION 1
BACKGROUND
Hailing from the (literally in some places) boiling-hot world of Boom, the Mokvan people are a proud and faithful fold who have maintained a deep connection with geology. They have been a proud part of the Shasti Federation for centuries.
Best described as Dhatri-lite, Mokvans are well-known for their boisterous rowdiness; they speak loudly and spar often. To their friends, they are known as some of the most loyal individuals one could ask for; like Dhatri, they have a 'ride or die' stance on companionship.
Mokvans have a deep cultural fear of microwaves. As silly as the idea may sound, there have been enough gruesome accidents in their history to warrant such feelings.
SECTION 2
ABOUT HOMEWORLD
Exotic tropical world with very high volanic activity and no oceans. Steam-storms are not an uncommon occurrence on some parts. Most of them in modern times are used for energy generation, but still allowed to occasionally erupt for religious ceremonies.
SECTION 3
RACIAL TRAITS
- Popcorn Brain: Unique brains are composed of dense ovoid clusters of neurons connected to one-another in a vast network of biological cabling. It is all held in place by a cartilage-like tissue that fills the space in-between clusters. Their unique brains provide exceptional redundancy; they can survive the death of most of their brain.
- There is one catastrophic flaw to their brain structure; the clusters contain a lot of moisture as a form of natural heat sink. When that moisture boils, it destroys the cluster by turning it into a pinkish, popcorn-like flake.
- Mokvan bones become malleable at a similar temperature, which causes the pressure to be forcefully relieved by physically pushing bone outward. Their brains do to shut down at such temperatures, so they can remain conscious for some time before the pressure becomes too high and is forcefully relieved.
- Fire-Proof: Capable of withstanding very high temperatures, body temperature can safely exceed water's boiling point. Scales are highly insulating and can withstand intense heat such as that from fire or magma briefly.
- Rowdy: High natural aggression which has to be occasionally relieved with social fights or sparring. Generally enjoys fights that do not result in severe injury.
