Background

The UJPA-3 "Secret" is a noteworthy strike fighter purpose-built to leverage the full possibilities of stealth technologies. Unlike other contemporary strikecraft, it does not support any external hardpoints, trading the possibility of a heavy payload in favor of a medium stealth payload. This is both advantageous and disadvantageous, providing exceptional flexibility in stealth-centric cases but lacking flexibility otherwise. As with previous generations, the Secret has a sophisticated VTOL system which allows it to land in and take off from nearly anywhere.

While it was drafted as part of candidate group 243 (the 2000s), its development had been expected to continue well into the 2010s. Therefore it was assigned to the next decade's candidate group. Research and development progressed far faster than expected, leading to its early introduction at the start of the decade.

The lesson: stealth is very, very powerful. The FoGM is moving in the right direction.
