SECTION 1
ABSTRACT
The Urx'Ka Crisis was a recent international crisis involving the Urx'Ka Expanse attempting to destroy several nations and bring numerous species to extinction. The Urx'Ka Expanse caused immense economic damage to many nations and were directly responsible for several sapient extinctions. The Urx'Ka Crisis ended with the total destruction of the Urx'Ka government and the extinction of the Urx'Ka species.
SECTION 2
SUMMARY
FOREWARD
The roots of the Urx'Ka Crisis ultimately start with the evolution of the Urx'Ka species; they evolved an exceptionally high aggression and low self-preservation on their harsh homeworld, in addition to a psychological phenominon that triggers when an Urx'Ka is convinced their death is inevitable. During such a time, they exhibit strong vindictive tendencies and attempt to inflict as much harm as possible before dying. The phenominon had the potential of causing a self-inflicted extinction event if it were to be triggered on a specieswide level, which it did.
The history of the Urx'Ka after achieving interstellar flight was notable in its brutality. The Urx'Ka were a spacefaring society for 286 years before starting the Urx'Ka crisis. In that time, only 24 of those years were officially out of war, and only 9 months were without being involved in any conflict. Their constant aggression allowed them to expand considerably faster than the average expansionist nation, ultimately achieving regional power status. Two other nations, the Aefanian Inhact and Anopos Collective, became long-standing rivals and were almost perpetually in conflict with the Urx'Ka Expanse.
The Urx'Ka's history was particularly gruesome as the Urx'Ka government tended to impose mass deportation of conquered populations, and often performed genocide on those who were unable or unwilling to leave. Their actions resulted in the extinctions of several species and the total uprooting of many others.
SHORTLY BEFORE URX'KA CRISIS
Out of fear of the Urx'Ka eventually growing powerful enough to become a superpower of its own and dominate them, the Aefanian Inhact and Anopos Collective began seeking closer relations with one-another with a plan to permanently remove the threat of the Urx'Ka. After a period of buildup and preparation, the two regional powers declared war on the Urx'Ka with the stated goal of dismantling its government. For the first time in a long time, the Urx'Ka were badly losing. The Dhatri Tsardom and Orion Federation provided supplies and funding to the two regionals as well, which further worsened the Urx'Ka's potentials.
Believing the end of their species to be imminent and with the two bordering superpowers supporting their downfall, the Urx'Ka populace and government as one decided to burn down the galaxy with them.
FIRST DECADE OF URX'KA CRISIS
The Aefanian and Anopos advance abruptly slowed, and then entirely reversed as the Urx'Ka transitioned from a war economy to an unsustainable war focus which dedicated the entire society to the war effort. The Urx'Ka reclaimed their territory and then began quickly occupying Aefanian and Anopos territory. The Urx'Ka took a total war stance, performing blatant genocide of any opposing species they came into contact with. The genocide eventually began to spill into other nations who had nothing to do with the conflict just so that the Urx'Ka may utilize the territory to exploit and pour into their war machine.
A few months into the counter-offensive, the Urx'Ka were declared a galactic crisis and became the galactic focus to destroy. Consequentially, the war spread to the Dhatri Tsardom and Orion Federation (who were bordering the Urx'Ka). Against initial expectations, the superpowers were not only unable to push into Urx'Ka territory, but instead were pushed out of their own territory by overwhelming numbers.
The remainder of the first decade of the Urx'Ka Crisis was defined by the Urx'Ka slowly expanding across the galaxy, making extensive use of dug-in tactics to maximize the difficulty of retaking territory while relentlessly pushing forwards to occupy new territory.
SECOND DECADE OF URX'KA CRISIS
By the tenth year of the Urx'Ka Crisis, the Urx'Ka Expanse had lost a considerable fraction of its population and were becoming less capable of gaining new territory over time. The Urx'Ka Crisis began to transition from a galactic defense to a large-scale attritional stalemate in which neither side was capable of breaking through, although the Urx'Ka would not be able to last indefinitely.
The Aefanian Inhact was particularly hit hard by the ongoing crisis, and were left vulnerable to the Rixan Triarchy; a minor power with historically tense relations. The Rixan Triarchy declared war against the Aefanian Inhact to regain a large portion of their original territory. The Aefanian Inhact was unable to properly defend the territory, and ultimately lost entirely against the Rixan Triarchy. The Rixan Triarchy, though victorious, had overextended their military and were struggling to manage their new gains.
During the second decade, the Urx'Ka transitioned to direct warfare to galactic terrorism, performing attacks of opportunity against many nations across the galaxy. The most infamous of these attacks was when the Urx'Ka attacked the Rixan Triarchy, quickly destroying all of their food-producing worlds and blockading Rixan territory until the nation was almost entirely depopulated from starvation.
THIRD DECADE OF URX'KA CRISIS
By the twentieth year of the Urx'Ka Crisis, most of the Urx'Ka species before the crisis were dead and the nation was no longer able to maintain the stalemate. The Urx'Ka Crisis began to transition into its final phase; a quick, cataclysmic spiral into extinction as the Urx'Ka species burned what was left of its population to maximize damage to the galaxy.
In the next (and final) two years, the Urx'Ka made indiscriminate attacks against any reachable population centers without any regard for cost. The Urx'Ka Expanse rapidly lost territory over the time, eventually resorting to mass production and deployment of hyperweapons as the military became incapable of pushing into the territory of hostile nations.
END OF THE URX'KA CRISIS
Twenty-two years, one month, and eight days after the Urx'Ka counteroffensive, the Urx'Ka Crisis came to an end when the core worlds of the Urx'Ka Expanse were destroyed by extensive orbital bombardment. The Urx'Ka species was declared extinct, and with it their threat was no more.
SECTION 3
AFTERMATH
The Urx'Ka Crisis resulted in the destruction of over a dozen micropowers, one minor power, and the collapse of several nations. A large swathe of the galaxy was depopulated, and much of the depopulated area was inherited by the Grandhold of Abyss which appeared four months after the end of the Urx'Ka Crisis.
Of particular note is the fate of the Rixan species. Although there is a notable population of Rixans across the galaxy, the vast majority of them have opted to not reproduce and allow the Rixan species to go extinct. The Rixan species is therefore considered critically endangered and is likely forever crippled.
