BACKSTORY
Retus Abyss is a former ruler of the Grandhold of Abyss, and the oldest surviving member of the Abyss bloodline. He is Epoch Abyss' direct predecessor - such obvious by his age of 999,820. He oversaw the late Age of Unity, gradually bringing the Grandhold deeper into its forming utopic serenity.
Eventually, age came for him. With only a few decades left to live, he gave birth to Epoch, who took the throne once Retus was satisified with his progress. He was narrowly saved from succumbing to age through the invention of universal clinical immortality. With Epoch already rightfully as Grandhold Administrator, Retus opted to live a much more quiet life from then on, pursuing game development - a dormant passion of his across this multi-thousand-year life. His near-million years of experience since then should be testament enough to how well that went.
Just like Epoch, he is the personification of the Grandhold ideology, albiet a slightly older iteration. He remembers the days where force had to be regrettably used to resolve some instances of unrest, so he carries deprecated parts of the ideology such as civil obedience.
