SECTION 2
APPEARANCE
Kiro, caring much about his appearance, keeps a well-trimmed beard and slicked-back short hair. He has a fair amount of Central Martilan in his lineage, leading to him having jet black hair.
No matter where he goes, he makes sure to wear his boilweave jacket in addition to an Onapmeith pin, necklace, and Ticil tiara - all made of gold.
SECTION 3
PERSONALITY
Kiro is cool, collected, and prideful. He's intimately familiar with the Martilan flavor of corruption in all its forms, and also deeply wary the potential wrath of Greater Martil's federal government.
He's deeply loyal to Hiji and its values, but at the same time would never consider rising up against Greater Martil. To do so would to put everything on the line - not only for himself, but his entire family. He also believes that the time any region could force concessions out of Central Martil through force is long gone, proven back in 1925.
SECTION 4
BACKSTORY
Kiro's bloodline was put as Hiji's premier nobility centuries ago. It was once composed of primarily Central Martilans, but centuries of the Hanza bloodline's assimilation has left it distinctly Hijian in all but hair color.
In his early 30s, he found himself leading the family following his uncle's unexpected illness. He was almost immediately thrust into the coming 1925 Hiji Uprising, which he refused to have any part in, fearing that it would have disasterous consequences for his bloodline. He ended up being justified in his fears as the uprising was quickly crushed, and all involved lost most of everything.
His life between then and the 1960s isn't particularly interesting. He got more familiar with corruption, deepened his personal connections, and so on. The only notable thing in the meantime is that he was the cause of the 1950s Polio pandemic, because he had allowed an ill associate bypass intake quarantine. He later influenced the media to imply that it was caused by Hinustrivans in a different part of the country, escaping responsibility.
Kiro enters the story proper in mid Farig, 1960. Seeking to expand his powerbase, he contacted the Drahosican Soloviev organization and offered them an opportunity to smuggle firearms into Greater Martil. The operation proved to be immensely profitable, so it was expanded a few years later to directly smuggle weapons in through the docks, and later further expanded to produce weapons on Martilan soil.
These good days can't last forever, but the downfall hasn't come yet. For now, Kiro's story continues.
