APPEARANCE
Epoch is a tall Lonim-Grandio of Central Martilan ethnicity. His hair is a potent black; absorbing considerably more light than the vast majority of Martilans. His eyes are a contrastingly vibrant blue. He is often seen wearing a traditional crown, made of a small number of large violet crystals.

PERSONALITY
Epoch is a kind and strong person who, though somewhat controversial for being particularly Reformism-inclined, is regarded positively by most. Though patient, or perhaps because of his patience, he is known to have a temper when things go horribly wrong.
As a father, Epoch is accepting of his children and difference in opinion, though he does not hesitate to make his displeasure known when he strongly disagrees with something his scions do.
Ultimately, he is driven by the vision of a return to the Age of Perfection; a time of strength where his country did not have to worry about what went on beyond the Islands, when Martil's word was absolute among the Islands. He also holds strong xenophobic views, but only really expresses them when frustrated - most often when the topic is over the integrity of Greater Martil.

BACKSTORY
Epoch is the ruler of the Federation of Greater Martil. He comes from a particular branch of the Abyss bloodline, unbroken for the better half of a millennium. He was perhaps the most soft-born Abyss in history; during his childhood, the Islands had never been more peaceful. Even when Hiji arose in his early adulthood, it had ultimately been little more than a singular rough wave which hadn't even managed to shake Martil. When he and his siblings vied for the Throne, Greater Martil couldn't have been more peaceful.
It was the wake-up call of the oil crisis, and the abrupt end of the Age of Perfection, that won Epoch the Throne. He was the most proactive of his siblings, and Retus saw that quality as what would save the Islands. So, when the grave came for his father, it was Epoch who rose.
Eventually, he brought Kaold Abyss into the world, and later Kyklo Abyss.
Under the leadership of Epoch, the Islands have done well enough. He has had blunders such as the Buland War and allowing the Space Segment crisis. He has had victories such as advocating for the Kalipan trade deal and ordering the retaking of Buland.
Epoch's story is far from over. What's ahead is anyone's guess, but surely it will be grand.
